This is a Practice Donald Trump Used for Decades, and Now He has been Indicted for his Crimes
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
I want to make it simple for you to understand why a federal
judge is supporting fraud indictments levied against Trump’s business interests
in New York.
Yours, truly, begin writing about Donald Trump’s felonies
ten years ago. Let me explain the reason for the indictments in a very simple
and understandable way.
If you own a home or business, the
county tax assessor will declare a monetary value each year by a specified date
determined by law. The owner of that property or business has an opportunity to
dispute the value of said property which would reduce the amount of taxes. This
is what Trump and his lawyers have done for decades, and it is not in any way a
violation of our nation’s overly complicated tax laws which are designed to
protect the wealthy.
However, when Trump’s business
sought loans from large banks, such as Deutsche Bank, they inflated the value of
these same properties which enabled them to receive a larger loan.
The example used by the judge was
Trump’s millionaires only playland, Mar-a-Lago. Public records show that the
tax assessment was originally about 26 million dollars. Trump’s people fought
to have that value reduced to around 18 million dollars. However, when he
sought a loan from the world’s largest banks, Trump ordered the value to exceed
600 million dollars, and as much as 1.8 billion.
This was common throughout Trump’s
New York business dealings for as long as he owned his real estate company in
the Empire State. He frequently bribed public officials who allowed him to
maintain his criminal empire.
What all this means is very
simple: Trump has been caught. Another lifetime criminal, not unlike the
leaders of the mafia, will finally pay for a life of crime which allowed him to
live a life of luxury and privilege.
